Pizza Haiku

Recently, I entered a poetry contest sponsored by one of my singles social groups.  The challenge: write Haiku about pizza.  Haiku is Japanese poetry characterized by lines of 5 - 7 - 5 syllables.  No rhymes allowed.   The prize: what else? Pizza.

The Pizza Prize
Brad was the winning poet and he was gracious enough to allow me to post his winning poem here, along with his other entertaining and clever pizza poetry entries.

Pizza
by Brad Mager

Life is like pizza.
Enjoy it from the inside
To the crusty edge.

Six screaming children.
The pizza is delivered.
Quiet munching now.

He tries to impress,
But kitchen skills are lacking.
She calls for pizza.

A turkey's last cry:
"Eat pizza for Thanksgiving!"
He was delicious.

Were I a big cheese,
And you were rolling in dough,
We could make pizza.
